Lester's Farm Wedding - Karla + Ross // St. John's Wedding Photography

Karla + Ross' St. John's Wedding was held in August on the grounds of Lester's Farm Chalet. Their wedding day was relaxed (the girls and the guys headed to the Keg and The Ship respectively for a drink prior to the ceremony! A first for me but I thought it was a great idea!). The focus of their wedding day was fun, friends, and family. It was evident they had a ton of support by how happy everyone was for the two of them and their new little girl Ella. It was a blast getting to hang out with everyone to capture their wedding.

I asked Karla + Ross to share their experiences with their vendors and about their wedding day. See what they had to say below.

Congratulations guys!

The Bride & Groom (Karla & Ross): We met on subnet trail near Quid Vidi on trail maintenance day back in September 2011. We were engaged one year later in October 2012 on that same trail, while out for a hike with our two dogs, Harley and Hunter.

How long did it take you to plan your wedding? Even though it was the longest engagement in history it took almost two months to plan the wedding. We had a lot of help with family and friends, who had the talent and time.

A huge thank you to my mom and dad for being our wedding planners, without their phone calls and infamous wedding day spreadsheet, the day would have been a disaster!

Vendors you chose and why:

Dress: Mikaella - from Ever After Bridal Boutique

Suit: Moores Clothing for Men

Decor: My cousin Jenneil Cooper, Heather Cooper, Sara and Holly Philpott, and Cameron and Margot Lackenbauer for helping decorate the place on the day of the wedding. My amazing brother, Gerald Bradbury for coordinating the whole thing.

Flowers: My dear friend, Susan Ryan...and her backyard ;)

Hair and Makeup: My friend Mary Lou Legault of Beauty by Mary Lou

Other acknowledgments: My mother in law, Bev Dawe, Sharon Dawe, Irene Pearcey and Cathy Windsor for making over 300 cookies for the wedding. They became quite the hit when dinner was late! They became appetizers, rather than dessert.

My godfather for agreeing to be the M.C. and for ensuring that the entire day went off without a hitch.

We would also like to acknowledge our loving friends for taking such good care of our daughter that day, especially Heather Tucker and Ginny Hobbs.

Brides & Groom's favourite moment: The pig roast, of course! Just kidding...seeing everyone enjoying the relaxing atmosphere was the best part for me. That is all Ross and I really wanted for that day, was for the day to be super chill and fun.

Advice to couples currently planning their wedding: Don't be afraid to ask for help from friends and family. By doing that, the day turns out just as you had imagined because they know you best.
